If a patient suspects that she might have a problem with her fertility, Dick Cowan provides an instant diagnostic service. He will see patients at short notice and organize the appropriate investigations.
Mr Cowan has written an infertility brochure for his patients, which they can take home, and which is complimentary to what has been said in consultation.
He will then review the couple's results, estimate their fertility prospects, and then offer them a choice of treatments, ranging from simple cycle-tracking with timed sexual intercourse, to sophisticated treatments such as:
- in vitro fertilisation (IVF)
- intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
- treatment with donor eggs or donor sperm
Mr Cowan plans his patients' treatments in his consulting rooms, and monitors progress by ultrasound scans and blood tests. If special laboratory facilities are required, he uses The Centre for Reproductive Medicine (London). These include IVF, ICSI, Embryo Freezing, and Intra Uterine Insemination. He performs these procedures himself.
